Saint Akthar, is a martyr's tale of love, loss and the risk of choosing connection when you're on opposite sides. This sculpture makes sacred the legacy of Akthar the ass and his brave quest to be united with his lover Akthara. The story is a reflection on both the potential cost of crossing lines of division and the hopeful pursuit of what lies on the other side. The artist explores this true story as an allegory for intercultural partnership, and movement across borders.
